Where to find us

Four ways, one of them fast

The form at the bottom of this page is the quickest, because it reaches the people who wrote the software.

Hours

Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 18:00 Hong Kong time. Expect an answer within one working day.

What happens next

From your message to an answer

No automated reply pretending to be a person.

1

It reaches a person

The form posts to our own server and straight into the team's messages. Nothing is stored on the website.

2

We read it the same day

During Hong Kong office hours, usually within the hour. Outside them, the next working morning.

3

You get a real answer

Written by somebody who knows how the system works, including when the answer is that it cannot do what you asked.

4

We keep nothing extra

Your message and your address are used to reply to you and for nothing else. There is no mailing list you have been added to.

Before you write

What helps us answer properly

Not required, but it saves a round trip.

  • Which phone is at home, and roughly how old it is
  • Which country the SIM belongs to, and which one you are in
  • How many SIMs you need to reach
  • Whether the phone at home has permanent power and wifi
  • What you tried already, if something is not working

Questions

Asked often enough to write down

The rest of the honest answers are on the how it works page.

Yes. No subscription, no trial, no paid tier and nothing to buy inside the app. Your operator still charges for the SMS your own SIM sends, exactly as it does today.

There is nothing to sell. There is no account, no profile, no analytics, and the message text on the server is sealed and deleted as soon as it is delivered.

No. iOS does not let an app take over SMS the way Android does, so the phone that holds the SIM has to be an Android one. The phone you carry is the iPhone.

Yes, with one handset per SIM. Each conversation stays tied to the SIM it belongs to, so a reply always leaves on the right number.

Not in the strict sense, and we will not claim it is. The SMS crosses the mobile network in the clear and the relay seals it on arrival rather than the handset sealing it before sending. The privacy page explains exactly where the boundary sits.

The relay is live and the apps are built and tested. The iPhone app has not been published on the App Store yet. Write to us and we will tell you when a test build is available.

Occasional updates

One short email when there is something real to say, such as the app reaching the App Store. Nothing else.

SimTether is software for reaching your own messages. It is not an operator, it does not issue numbers, and it does not port anything.
