Your SIM stays home. Your texts come with you.
Leave the phone your bank texts in a drawer at home. Read every message it receives on the phone in your pocket, anywhere on earth, and reply from there: the phone at home sends your answer as a real SMS from your own number.
Forwarding a message to you costs nothing. Your messages are encrypted before they are stored, and the archive of them lives on your phone rather than on a server.
The problem
Your number never left.
You moved. The SIM your bank, your landlord and your government insist on texting did not.
A one-time code lands in an empty room.
Roaming, every month, for a line you never speak on.
A second phone in your bag, checked three times a day.
The fix
A rope between the two.
An old Android stays home with your SIM. Everything it receives appears on the phone in your hand, and your replies leave from that same number.
Both directions
You reply. It leaves from your number.
This is not a read-only feed. You type on the iPhone in your hand, wherever you are, and the phone at home puts the message on the radio as a real SMS from your own SIM.

Text messages only. SimTether never carries voice, and no software could: the audio of a mobile call cannot leave the handset it rings on. When somebody calls, the phone at home simply rings. What the app gives you is the knowing: it tells you who tried, so you can call back however suits you from where you are. That notice is the next thing being built.
What you need
Two phones and a plug.
One of them is the Android you already stopped using. Nothing is ported, no operator is involved, and you can undo it by taking the SIM out.

A code that reaches you late is a code you cannot use. Messages are pushed the moment they land, never collected on a timer.

No account, no profile, no history. Messages are sealed before they are stored and deleted the moment they reach you.
The price
Free.
Today SimTether costs nothing to use: no subscription, no trial that expires, no adverts and nothing to buy inside the app. We are not going to promise that never changes, and if it ever does we will say so plainly and in advance rather than letting you find out from a paywall.

SimTether has not been independently audited, and an SMS crosses the mobile network in the clear long before it reaches the phone at home. We protect everything after that point, and we say so plainly rather than calling it end-to-end encrypted.
